basebox is the AI platform for organizations that cannot hand critical data to external AI services. This documentation is organized by what you want to do, which role you have, and which basebox environment you use.
Where do I begin?
Three questions take you to the right page:
1. Which environment am I using? Demo, Cloud or Server – this decides which technical pages apply to you. If you are not sure: Which basebox environment am I using?
2. Which role do I have? User, administrator, developer or platform operator – each role has its own section. Roles in basebox

The three environments in one sentence each
- Demo – for trying things out. Not a production system, no real data.
- basebox Cloud – production on basebox-owned infrastructure, operated by basebox.
- basebox Server – a dedicated server for your organization, located at your site or at basebox, operated by you or by basebox.
A server standing in the basebox data center is still Server – not Cloud. Why that matters: Which basebox environment am I using?
