basebox Server is a dedicated physical server for one organization. Nobody shares it with you. Where the hardware comes from, where it stands and who operates it are three independent decisions – none of them changes the product.
The three decisions
Hardware – from where?
- Sourced through FAST LTA (basebox hardware partner; currently e.g. 3 × RTX PRO 6000, 2 × H200, 2 × H200 + 1 × RTX PRO 6000, each with 128 GB or 512 GB system RAM)
- Procured by you – your own or existing hardware
FAST LTA is a hardware source, not a product and not a deployment model of its own.
Location – where?
- In your data center
- In the basebox data center (hosting)
A server hosted at basebox remains Server. Standing at basebox does not make it Cloud.
Operation – who?
- You (self-managed): after handover of the software you are responsible for infrastructure and operation.
- basebox (where separately commissioned): basebox installs and/or operates via PAM/VPN or another agreed access path.
Purchasing the software does not automatically include operating the infrastructure.
What runs on the server
A basebox Server carries three layers with very different resource needs: the basebox platform (little GPU), the service models (dedicated GPU capacity is sensible) and inference (determines the hardware requirement). Inference can run on the same server or on a separate GPU host. Details: Understand the architecture.
Who it is for
Organizations that need their own, unshared environment – for data protection, compliance or network reasons – and either want to operate it themselves or deliberately commission operation.
