Welcome
basebox is the AI for patient, citizen and social data: for your whole organization, on your server or in basebox Cloud in Germany. Each person sees only what they are allowed to see. What basebox is and does: What is basebox?.
This documentation is organized by what you want to do, which role you have, and which basebox environment you use.
Where do I begin?
Do you use basebox in your organization?
Then start directly with Getting started: sign in, get to know the interface, first conversation.
Three questions take you to the right page:
1. Which environment am I using? Cloud or Server – this decides which technical pages apply to you. If you are not sure: Which basebox environment am I using?
2. Which role do I have? User, administrator, developer or platform operator – each role has its own section. Roles in basebox
3. What do I want to do?
| I want to … | Then read |
|---|---|
| try basebox | Get started for free |
| use basebox in my daily work | Use |
| set up my organization | Administer |
| integrate basebox into software | Develop |
| install basebox on my own hardware | Operate |
| review security and compliance | Security |
| look up versions and changes | What's new & reference |
basebox comes as Cloud and as Server
- basebox Cloud – own environment per organization on servers in the noris network data center in Munich East, operated by basebox. Accounts created before the Cloud start run in the transition phase until November 2026.
- basebox Server – a server for your organization only, located at your site or in the data center, operated by your IT or by basebox. This includes basebox on hardware of your choice (platform only) and hybrid (basebox in your own network, AI models from another location).
A server standing in the basebox data center is still Server – not Cloud. Why that matters: Which basebox environment am I using?
