basebox Cloud (transition phase until November 2026)

Applies to

Product: Cloud · Audience: All

Until basebox Cloud starts in November 2026, new Cloud accounts run in a transition phase. This page describes what is different and what happens at the move.

Who is affected

All organisations whose basebox Cloud account is created before the Cloud start – including accounts created via "Get started for free".

Where data and models are

  • Platform and data: in a shared environment at Hetzner in Nuremberg.
  • AI models: from Google Vertex in Frankfurt. Google does not use your inputs for training and logs them for abuse detection for no longer than 30 days.
  • Backup: daily; backups are retained for up to 7 days.
  • Separation: organisations are logically separated from each other; user management is shared.

From the Cloud start, each organisation receives its own environment in the noris network data center (Munich East); see basebox Cloud.

The move

basebox moves accounts from the transition phase into basebox Cloud. You do not need to register again. After the move, basebox deletes your data in the transition-phase environment.

Special categories of personal data

Art. 9 GDPR

It is best to process health data and other special categories of personal data under Art. 9 GDPR only after the move. Agree on this with your organisation or your data protection officer.

Data processing

basebox is a processor in the transition phase as well. The basis is the data processing agreement (DPA).
